Desire Right |
© Beth Roberts | One artist at the show (T. Emin) got desire right: pen stroke slash & blur make a burrow from the brain: 1.) action couched in thought, 2.) trajectory, 3.) wake. Course, she's really a storyteller and brings her pen to pain, as in Everything I want belongs to you, trailing a small scrawl of the sad thing she does own. (If I trace his body with both hands in a dream, this is not the same as the outline of desire . . . to open your heart, you make it incomplete . . . right?) My own girl draws wind lashes with a silver glitter pen. They flap and flare open, silver lining in the outskirts of desire! They do look like the wind |
